Broadband: #StartupSouth Proudly Supports Anambra State Stakeholders’ Forum

In June 2020, Anambra State Government waived Right of Way (RoW) charges for fiber optic cable deployment. Exorbitant Right of Way charges have long been fingered by experts as the single most important hinderance to deepening broadband penetration.

#StartupSouth have long championed the need for states in the region to embrace policies that support deepening of the Digital Economy and Broadband is at the top of our list. This is why we are excited to partner with the Anambra State Government through the State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB) on this quest to get the broadband infrastructure policy right.

This stakeholders’ forum with the theme – Facilitating Broadband Access in Anambra State through a Favorable Right of Way Regime – will provide an opportunity for professionals and members of the public to contribute in the emerging broadband policy thrust of the Anambra State Government.

Guests expected at the virtual Session include Chief Willie Obiano, Executive Governor of Anambra State (The Chief Host), Nasir El-Rufai, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Isa Ali Pantanmi, Minister of Communication & The Digital Economy, Funke Opeke, MD, MainOne, Representatives of Mobile Network Operators, Industry Stakeholders and others.
